When it comes to wedding planning, it can quickly become overwhelming. From picking all your vendors, to creating a guest list, to deciding on decorations, it’s a lot to plan. I’ve been through it myself and I’m here to help you out!
Here are my top 5 wedding planning tips that will hopefully help the process go smoothly and take some stress away.
Start With Your budget
First things first, you should make a budget! Decide what you can afford and what you’re willing to spend. Start off by listing all the different vendors you’ll be booking as well as the items you will be purchasing and write down the budget for each item. Some aspects will be more important than others so choose which places you’re willing to spend more and have more wiggle room.
Create a Vision Board
Creating a vision board will help you see the overall look of what you want for your wedding. Whether this is a real-life poster board with cutout pictures or a Pinterest board, it will be really helpful to see the vision for the whole day. The vision board will be a place where all of your inspiration and ideas are, so if you have a wedding planner, be sure to show them your board so they can get a better idea of what you’re wanting!
Use a Planner
Planners make a HUGE difference. I recommend hiring a wedding planner but if that is out of your budget then get yourself a paper planner. I know how stressful wedding planning can be so I recommend this guide to help all my couples through the process. It’s called “The Engagement Journal” and it was written and designed exclusively for engaged couples. It not only assists you with the wedding planning process but also helps you strengthen your relationship with your partner along the way. Click here to learn more about it!
Keep Everything Organized
Keeping everything organized is key. Using a paper planner will definitely help with this and I also recommend getting yourself a binder. Use the binder to keep all your important documents in one place. You can use it for receipts and store the contracts from different vendors. It’s also a good idea to keep all the phone numbers and contact info in the binder so everything is all together.
Set Up a Wedding Website
Thank you to whoever invented wedding websites!! They are the best! To make a wedding website you can use theknot.com, zola.com, or one of the many other options out there. These websites help you keep track of your budget, your guest list, and your RSVPs. You can also make your registry there and put all the info your wedding guests will need. It’s a great idea to add the link to your wedding invites so guests can go to your website and see it all in one spot!
