COLORADO PAINT MINES ENGAGEMENT SESSION

The paint mines are literally in the middle of nowhere Colorado. You park, walk about 15 minutes through the Colorado golden plain fields and stumble upon a sea of bright, naturally made color bands, oxidized in different layers of clay. I had to look that up, can you tell?

I flew out to Colorado in late April to second shoot a wedding with my friend, Kayla (Kayla Rae Photography) in Vail. I've been to Colorado a few times but this was my first time at the Paint Mines, which is just 45 minutes west of Colorado Springs. I tagged along with Kayla during her engagement session with Nolan + Leah, both of whom were the nicest people.

The golden hour showed off its gorgeous western sunset slipping into Pikes Peak and bouncing pink hues into a stormy blue sky.
