How To Get The Most Out Of Your Engagement Session

May 23, 2022

One of the very first things most couples tackle after getting engaged is booking their engagement session with a photographer to capture that exciting season of life! These photos are a big deal, this time of life is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and so getting the most out of your photos is a must.

If you are wondering what all you can use your photos for, look no further! I’m here to help you out and hand over all of my tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your photos and your session. Scroll down below for more!

Touching first on how to set yourself up for success before you even have your photos taken: take the time to make sure you are prepared for your engagement session. This includes planning your outfits, going for haircuts or color, etc. Preparing helps you get the most out of your session and will eliminate a lot of last-minute running around or situations that induce stress.

After you get your gallery back of your engagement photos, choose your favorite pictures and get them printed. You can hang them up in your house, use them to send along with invitations or put them in an album! Having that tangible memory is always a really sweet thing to have.

Many couples end up using their engagement photos for wedding decor! Your engagement photos are perfect for save the dates, invites, centerpieces, and much more. You can really get a good amount of use with your photos by using them in your wedding decorations. Using sites like Etsy or Zola will help you come up with those unique ideas!

I always suggest two of my couples get their hair and makeup trials done for their engagement session prior to their wedding day. This ensures that everything is perfect and to your liking. And, worst case if it isn’t, you now know not to do that for your wedding!

Last, but not least… Have fun! Your engagement session is for you and your partner to spend quality time and have some beautiful photos taken. So, take advantage of the situation and have fun with it and your photographer. You can turn it into a date night and go out with your partner for dinner or go out for a movie if you’d like. Quality time is essential so take this chance to soak in this awesome journey with your partner!

“Let me start by saying this, Jenna is AMAZING!! I promise you when I say she is one of a kind, SHE IS ONE OF A KIND! We had SO much fun during our engagement session, she made us both feel so comfortable & relaxed and knew exactly how to get the perfect shots. She makes it playful so you get those genuine, real raw emotion photos. We can’t wait for our big day and for her to be there documenting the entire thing. I wouldn’t even bother searching for any other photographer because she’s the real deal!”
